Trip To VEGAS!

We spent a few days in Las Vegas.  Cody had to go for work and we followed him down in our car.  I was hoping for a few days in warm weather, hanging out in a hotel where we could swim.  The trip turned into a bit of a fiasco but we still had some fun.  The first day Konrad threw up in the car.  It was smelly!  We just threw his clothes out.  We stayed in St. George that night.  The second day Kennedy and Konrad threw up within 30 seconds of each other, again in the car.  The weather in Las Vegas was really windy and cold.  That made it so we couldn't swim in the outdoor pool.  We felt pretty cooped up in the hotel.  The day we were leaving to go through Kanab on our way to stay in Cedar City (the kids and I anyway, we were planning to meet up with Cody that night in Cedar), we were trying to get on the road quickly but found that our car battery was dead!  We finally got the car going and got on the road.  I followed the navigation system in my car and we ended up at the entrance of Zions National Park.  I decided not to pay the $25 to go through the park to Kanab and we had to backtrack about 30 minutes.  By the time we got to Kanab we had all had quite enough of the car!  We got to see my Grandma Black in Kanab.  It is always nice to see her!  After seeing Grandma we headed north out of Kanab and didn't realize how dangerous it would be to head over Cedar Mountain into Cedar City.  It was a heavy snowstorm and we only saw one snowplow going the other way in 40 miles.  No one else!  It was very steep, snowy, and scary and I'm not lying when I say I prayed the entire time!  Somehow we made it safely with no problems.  We got to our hotel and were not at all surprised when they told us the pool was under maintenance!  Luckily they said we could go swim at their sister property, the Hampton, so we did.  I was really impressed with how well the kids were through the whole trip.  They didn't fight me at all on getting in the car so much.  It was a crazy trip and we are glad we made it home safely.
