"The Camera Loves Me!" - Konrad

Every time the camera goes on Konrad sits there with a goofy grin on his face. He'll do it as long as I'll take his picture. He's a little vain and A LOT cute!

Jake & Tessa

We have started watching our neighbor kids in the mornings. We've had a lot of fun with them so far. Jake only comes for a few hours until he heads to school. Tessa is in Corbett's afternoon kindergarten class so I get them off to school together. Corbett & Tessa have a lot of time together. Corbett is learning A LOT about girls. The other day they had a fight. Tessa said they weren't going to be friends anymore. Typical 5-year-olds, however it must have really affected Corbett. A few days later the conversation went like this...
Corbett - "Hey Tessa, do you want to apologize?"
Tessa - Blank Stare
Corbett - "Tessa, do you want to be friends again?"
Tess - "Kind of"
Corbett - "Okay, apology accepted." (in a very "I'm forgiving you" kind of voice)

CORBETT

Corbett is growing up so fast and is really busy these days! He's loving kindergarten! He's learning to play battleship...
He likes to goof off for the camera (his soccer season is about half way through and he's loving soccer!)...

KONRAD!

I guess Konrad has decided to take over Kennedy's spot as the crazy one (although Kennedy is not letting him take her spot without a fight!).
I'm sure he's going to love this picture when he gets older!

Our Little PRINCESS

I've started curling Kennedy's hair. I think she's so stinking cute! She is very patient with me while I'm curling it!

OUCH!!

We're going to start getting funny looks if this keeps up!  All three of our kids' faces are wounded right now.

Kennedy's is the worst one, she rode the retro rocket down the driveway and did a full flip before scraping her face on the pavement...

I can't honestly tell you what happened to Konrad...
And Corbett and Cody were wrestling and Corbett hit is forehead on the corner of the nightstand. It was just like a cartoon the way the goose egg went up.

Kindergarten

I am really excited for Corbett to start Kindergarten and he is ready, but for some reason I still teared up when I took him for his first day.  I think it's because for the rest of the time I have to raise him he'll be going to school now.  Kindergarten won't be bad because it's only half day, but it's the beginning.  Corbett is such a fun kid.  We love having him in our family!  I have no doubt he will do really well in school!
Corbett has two little neighbors in his class.  Below he is with Tessa.  We went with Tessa and her mom on the first day and we will be taking Tessa to school all year since I'll be tending her each day.  We've had a lot of fun with her so far!

The Uintas

Cody and Corbett, along with my brother, brother-in-law, and nephew, went backpacking into the Uintas last weekend. I don't know a lot about the trip and what I do know I wish I didn't because they ran into lightning and lots of rain and it sounded a little too dangerous for a mom to have her 5-year-old experience. I'm glad they all made it safely. I do know they made it within 15 minutes of the top of King's Peak and had to turn back because of a lightning storm. A few did make it to the top. I think they had some fun, despite the weather. Usually I do some editing and cropping on pictures, but it is such beautiful country up there I just left them as they are...

Top of Utah Half Marathon

I ran the Top of Utah Half Marathon last weekend. It was a lot of fun. I ran it in about my average pace and I ran most of it with my sister, Sandra.  I love running races,  race day is like Christmas Morning!

The Beans & Rice Display

Sometimes I help out with our city's "beans and rice display" at the county fair.  I know it sounds crazy, most people have no idea what it is.  I didn't either until I got roped into helping.  Our city does a good job and usually we take second place.  This year we took FIRST!  The good news, we won!...the bad news, if you win you have to redo your display down at the state fair.  I always sign on to do a project that I can do at my house and send with someone down to the fair grounds.  I spend a couple hours at the fair helping fill the display with BeAnS aNd RiCe, but that's about all.  This year I made the Nibley City letters and the sign that says "TICKETS".  I made a few more things for the state fair this coming week.  SO, if you have no idea what a beans and rice display is, without further ado...
Our Grand Champion display! We also won the people's choice award!
