Taylor Jane Thorson

My brother Grant and his wife Erica have been married for 9 years. They haven't been able to have any kids yet...UNTIL yesterday they let us know they are adopting a little girl. She's already born. Our whole family is SO excited for them and for the new baby. This is something we've fasted for and prayed for A LOT!! There's really no way to express the emotions they've had or we've had, needless to say there was a lot of screaming and crying when we heard the news! WHAT A MIRACLE!!

happy birthday Corbett!!!

Corbett turned 3 on Saturday! We had a lot of fun with it. We invited his little friends and cousins that live around here and had a party with a fish pond, played pin the tail on the big daddy horse (aka donkey) and decorated cookies. Corbett even got a horse cake. Then my mom and dad came and took him to McDonald's for dinner. The next day Cody's parents came and celebrated with us again. We made cupcakes and had icecream again. It was a fun birthday!!

Treehouse Museum

Yesterday I took Corbett to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. My sisters Sandra & Rhonda, and my sis-in-law Camie Jo came with their kids, as well. Corbett had a great time. It's a great place for kids!!

Here's Camie Jo with her three boys, Emery, Coleman, & Anhder.

Corbett's first day skiing

This is Corbett and Cody practicing for the big day!...For anyone who knows Cody, you know that Corbett has little choice but to be a skiier/snowboarder. Today we took Corbett up to Beaver Mountain and he let him ski for the first time. (He'll be three in a week). It actually went all right. First we were just going to have him go on the tow rope but that was so hard to hold onto and Corbett saw the "big lift" and really wanted to go on it. Cody went and traded his pass to a punch pass for little Beaver. As soon as he got that pass Corbett decided he needed to go on the really big lift. Don't worry, we're pushovers when it comes to Corbett but we're not that big of suckers. So Corbett had to stick with Little Beaver. Cody took him up three times and that was enough, although Corbett wasn't ready to be done. It was a really fun day...I didn't have to ski or go down the mountain in any form! I just took pictures!

Fun

Starting with New Year's, we had a fun one...a pretty typical one. We usually have a family party at the person's house that got a new house that year. Surprisingly it usually works that way. Although my family is starting to settle into long term situations it seems, in the past we've had someone move almost every year. So this year was Eric's turn since they moved about a mile away from me and split the distance between Sandra and I. Yes, we all live THAT close. So the typical New Year's party consisted of a lot of junk food and games. At midnight we gather around the TV to watch the "Live" ball drop in NYC. This year's highlight was a game my brothers bought my parents (p.s. my parents usually show up to the party for at least 5 minutes, they're really wild!) anyway back to the game, it's called "would you rather" I didn't dare to play it myself and I warn you against it! It'll make you cry laughing but it's SO GROSS! Kudos to Grant & Eric for buying it for mom & dad. I'm sure they'll play it a lot. Unfortunately, no pics of New Year's party.
Cody left for Dubai yesterday. Although we usually don't give him a big sendoff since he travels so often, we decided to have some fun. We went to the fun park and went bowling and played some arcade games. Then we went to Iggy's and to Madagascar 2 (good show) It was a fun time! Cody will be back on Thursday & we'll miss him while he's gone.
