Spoiled Rotten!

A few weeks ago some of my best friends came to Logan and had a baby shower for me! They took me to lunch at the Bluebird (YUM!) and spoiled me! I love these girls, whenever we get to hang out we have SO much fun!! THANK YOU Jamie, Lindzi, & Laura!! I'm so lucky to have such great friends! Here's one of the few pregnant pictures I'm going to share.

Trip to Idaho

Two weeks ago we made a trip to Rexburg, Idaho to see our niece Matilda be baptized. It was a quick Sunday trip (she was baptized on Sunday evening). Congrats to Matilda! Corbett got a chance to play with his Sorensen cousins. Here is Corbett with his cousin Jack. They are about 9 month apart and LOVE playing together! It was a great day for flying kites!!
It was fun to see everyone but I think that will be our last trip for a while. The traveling makes my contractions start up and we want to avoid going into labor for a few more weeks!

Happy Easter!

We had a fun and eventful week! Our Easter Bunny comes on Saturday. This year he brought model rockets for the boys...and the newest addition to our family, Maximus the triceratops! Maximus is a webkinz and Corbett is having a ton of fun playing with him. We also had an Easter egg hunt on Saturday with Corbett's cousins on my side. We had the hunt in Tremonton where my sister lives because Logan was covered in snow.
On Easter we enjoyed conference and afterward took Corbett for a bike ride on the Logan River trail. I had more than one passer by comment on my pregnant condition and one guy was very concerned when I was waiting on a bridge alone. He made sure I was okay and that I was with someone. I look like I'm about to pop! I'm actually only 34 weeks now so we still have a few weeks to go.
Crazy enough we were passing by the gardening store near our house and there was a camel and some zebras outside! We stopped to let Corbett feed them and take a closer look!

I love holidays, Easter is no exception. We celebrate them as much as we can! We're grateful for the meaning of the holiday and try to teach it to Corbett. Corbett is worried about the "bad guys" who killed Jesus and has asked me several questions about them. He understands Jesus came back to life and has his body again. He is lying is wait for those "bad guys" who killed Him though, they better not cross paths with Corbett!

This was a CRAZY week! It was filled with fun for Corbett. It was filled with making crafts for me. My cousin had a boutique at her house over the weekend and Tammy and I put some crafts there as well. Cody had to go to Pennsylvania Tuesday evening so he got off work in the early afternoon and took Corbett to the movie! They had so much fun! That evening Corbett got invited to sleep over at Carson's house. It was spring break so it was a big party with other cousins invited too. Thursday Sandra took Corbett along with her family to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake. He had a lot of fun there too (and I got a nice quiet day to work on crafts). Friday we had to deliver our crafts to my cousin's house in Syracuse and we stopped to see my mom at her school and go to lunch. Saturday Corbett helped Cody in the yard all day and then they went rock climbing in the evening! What a lot of fun!!

OUR TWIN NURSERY!

I've been working on a twin nursery for a few months now. Here's how the room looked before when it was an office.Here's Cody trying to keep me out of the fumes. He's been so helpful with this project. He gave me my way (which if you've met us you know that's rarely his way)!!Puke green paint...we were nervous!!What to do with a boy/girl room? I found some fabric at Hobby Lobby that I fell in love with. So I put my talented mom to work and we created this fun nursery! I love it! To start with we made blankets and sheets for the babies' cribs... We did the quilting ourselves. My mom made the polka dot sheets. Of course there has to be vinyl (since I have a cutter)!I'm trying to keep it inexpensive so I had to get crafty with some things I had. This changing table was all white. My sister gave it to me to use for Corbett when he was a baby. I painted it off white and brown. Notice the baskets are lined with the fabric from the quilts, my mom's handiwork...again (along with the cover for the changing pad).Such a fun diaper stacker! Thanks to my mom, she put in WAY more hours than I could thank her for!I made these blocks and added drawers to this dresser. It used to be a stool that was unfinished. I acquired it through a craft trade. I think it turned out cute!

And lastly I made a simple shelf to put some decor on.

There's still a couple finishing touches I want to add but it's pretty much done! Can't wait to fill it with those little babies!

Memories & History...Our trip to Kanab!!

My mom spends a few days in Kanab with her mother every time she goes off track (she's a school teacher). Cody had a trip scheduled to Las Vegas for work this past week so we decided to go to Kanab with my mom! My sister, Sandra, and her son Carson came with us too. Kanab is a place I have very fond memories of! My grandparents lived there my entire childhood. We would go visit a few times a year. All of our cousins on the Black side (my mom's side) lived there except a few. My Grandpa Black died while I was on my mission so things are a little different there now. They sold the house they lived in and my grandma now lives in a senior living apartment. Kanab is a small place and our history there is deep. Levi Stewart was the first bishop in Kanab and he is my great great great grandfather (give or take a "great"). Somehow I am related to most of the people there. This is the sign you see as you enter Kanab on the north side. My grandpa did the rock work on the sides. As kids we used to smash our faces up against the window of the camper or stick our arms out of the window in our car just to be the first one in Kanab as we passed this sign.Here is my cute Aunt Carolyn with the boys. We found plenty of ways to entertain the boys while we were there (beside my mom spoiling them rotten with toys!) The weather wasn't great but we had fun anyway. Here's Corbett at the park.The grocery store in Kanab hands out balloons, cookies, and free tokens to the merry go round every time you go!It was COLD but Corbett & Carson were determined to go swimming!Outside of grandma's apartment there are the huge rocks the boys enjoyed climbing on...they were king of the hill and king of everything else they could think of (including olives!)Time to go home! They got Kanab Cowboy hats as souvenirs!What a fun trip! Thanks to my mom for letting us tag along. It was so good to see my grandma, sadly I have to admit I hadn't been to visit since Corbett was 3 or 4 months old. I love going there, the red rock, the red sand dunes (too bad we couldn't play on the dunes because of the weather), our relatives, and mostly memories of my grandparents & visiting their house.

The ski season is winding down. I decided to ride up to the hill with Cody and Corbett yesterday since I hadn't seen Cody all week. It was fun to see Corbett ski through every once in a while! He's doing really well. It was also fun to see all the other tiny skiiers...Corbett isn't even considered small for how little they start skiing.

We haven't been doing too many blog-worthy activities so it's been a while... It seems like I'm just waiting for these babies to get here so I can 1) have my body back and 2) stop sleeping for the next year! We're glad to report things are moving along great with the pregnancy. There are no foreseeable problems and the babies are growing just like they should. We're planning to deliver around May 6th. This is an ultrasound of our girl, Kennedy. They couldn't get our boy to look so unfortunately I have no pictures of his face. I do have a picture that shows their heads are right together for now. We have decided to name them Kennedy & Konrad after all. Still waiting to get the rest of the sewing done and can't wait to post pictures of the nursery after that!
Our weeks seem to be all the same for the most part lately. Corbett has preschool 3 days a week and he is reading some words now! Cody has basketball on Thursday nights with the ward and he loves to play! Cody and Corbett spend EVERY Saturday at the ski hill. I spend every Saturday shopping, cleaning, and helping with Young Women's basketball games. Cody has been diligently getting into shape, running home from work several nights. He is running the Wasatch Back and hopefully a marathon this summer. The weather is getting nicer and we are trying to go outside for a little bit each day for exercise and fresh air. I took a photography class every Thursday but that is over now. We'll see if I do any better in my picture-taking skills! We're fighting off colds (and sinus infection for me) at our house, hopefully we've got it beat! They split our ward yesterday...not good! I don't mind the split too much, I have friends on both sides and am happy about keeping some and sad to lose the others. The part I'm not happy about is that we now go to church at 2:30 pm and get out at 5:30 pm. We also go to a building that's not in our stake, it's the building Cody and I used to go to in our old house. So that's about it for our month, not much to tell!
Corbett is always funny though! Saturday after skiing he dragged out the cooler they had taken to the ski hill that day. I asked him what he was doing, his reply, "I'm trying to get some dinner!" So now you know he is neglected and feels he has to find his own dinner!
