Haircuts

Corbett has had pretty long hair for quite a while now. We decided to buzz his hair. I don't think it's as cute as when it's long but at least it won't be messy all the time now. It'll be a good change and a cool cut for summer! I think we'll just grow it out again but for now Cody and Corbett have matching cuts!

Hauling Rocks

You'd think from the pictures that I wasn't the one who did MOST of the work on the rocks but that's because I'm the only one who takes pictures. We spent our Saturday filling our park strip with rocks (finally!) and Cody and Will (our next door neighbor) spent some time on a skid getting our RV pad dug out. I can't wait for that to happen, if you've been to our house you know there's no room for parking the cars and walking to the door at the same time. My whole body aches from raking out the rocks, but now it looks really good, so I guess it was worth it. I was feeling pretty lucky yesterday, Josh lent us his dump trailer so we got the rocks in 2 loads instead of 4 like we did in the front park strip and then we used a ward member's skid to dig out the RV pad. We were so grateful for everyone's help...thanks!!

My handiwork

I'm not the greatest photographer but I LOVE taking pictures. On Friday my sister asked me to take pictures of her daughters, Mariah & Sarah. Take a look...I think it turned out great!

Lots of Fun

We had a busy and fun Easter weekend. On Friday we went to baby animal days at the American West Heritage center. Corbett had a great time. His favorite part was definitely riding the ponies. We were glad to see him loosen up around the animals. This picture of Cody is mostly just to tease him, but he'll probably never know about it because I don't think he's EVER looked at our blog and I'm totally serious about that.

Saturday.we.went.to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt, Corbett had a great time!

Afterward.we.went.to.the.Bee's.game in Salt Lake.It was a lot of fun but as you can see the 3-yr-olds needed some extra entertain- ment!

My.mom.had.an.Easter.egg.hunt for the grandkids, here's a photo of all the egg hunters, (my mom's grandkids minus 4). They're a good looking bunch of kids, and they really are good kids.

And.the.last.(but.not.least).photo.is of Corbett in his new church clothes he got for Easter. I want to cry...he looks so grown up!

skiing and such

This weekend we tried to take Corbett skiing again. In the past he's done pretty good, however this time he had a hurt foot and hadn't had any sleep so he was a grumpy little guy. Cody took him up the lift once and carried him down the mountain. Cody's excited though because he actually got a season pass for next year and can use it to finish out this year. Along with a season pass you can get a free pass for someone under 5 years so now Corbett and Cody have season passes for next year. This is a picture of the Bensons, my sister's kids, at the ski hill on Saturday.
Then we came home to see my brother Grant and his wife Erica who came to see us with their new little baby! The boys played some football while Grant was here. I can't believe one day is this nice and then this morning we woke up to SNOW?!?

VACATION!

This week was mostly about VACATION! Cody had some work to do in California so we tagged along! He had to do a job on Catalina Island, and we thought he would be doing a job in Legoland but that cancelled. It was still great though. When we landed in California I was sure I saw my aunt getting off the plane a few rows ahead of us, once I deboarded and went in the restroom there she was! My aunt Janice was on the same plane we were...small world! The first day we were in California we went to Astro Camp in Idyllwild, California. Cody did some work and Corbett and I played around. The next day we took the Catalina Express over to Catalina Island. We were picked up in a car (unusual for Catalina Island) and got to drive inland to get to camp CIMI (Cataline Island Marine Institute) On the way there we saw a bison about 10 feet away. Cody had to change out some more cables but Corbett and I got to play by the Ocean and just play in a VERY beautiful spot! They showed us some great stuff, I actually touched a small shark. We saw an Octopus, sharks, lobsters, and tons of other Ocean life. It was awesome! Cody got to join us for that part! They brought us back to Avalon in a ski boat! On the ferry home the dolphins were jumping like crazy, it was so neat. The following day we met up with a friend from our mission and his family for lunch in Long Beach where we were already staying. We went to the beach one last time and then headed home. I swear we were sitting right by Pete (Tim Daly) from Private Practice on our plane from L.A. to SLC. I wish I would have asked to be sure but I'm about 99.9% sure.

So we got home about midnight on Wednesday from California and we headed out to Reno about 5 a.m. on Thursday morning. Luckily we were going with Sandra and Joe so they could drive because Cody had slept for about 4 hours or less, and I had 2 hours of sleep after packing for our trip to the WAC tournament. My mom took care of Corbett and Sandra's kids and we went to Reno! It was my first time leaving Corbett and he did great...I was okay after I found out he didn't really miss me. So we drove all day and got there in time to watch most of the game right before USU played. Then we watched Utah State play and WIN! We grabbed some dinner and headed back to the night games but we were wiped out so we didn't stay through all of the last one. Friday we tried our hand at the slots...our room came with some free gambling money so we had some fun using it. We also had some fun playing games at the Midway at Circus Circus. That night we watched the Aggies win again, only that was a nail biter. After the first 10 minutes or so the Aggies never led until the last shot of the game! It was pretty nerve racking! So we were in the Championship game on Saturday! Saturday morning we went to the Reno Temple which was very nice. We played a little and napped a little and then we went to dinner with our friends who were also there for the tournament (Josh and Trish Grover). The game was in Reno and we were playing Reno so we really wanted to win. Luckily the Aggies came out strong and Nevada couldn't hit anything so it wasn't a very close game and we came out on top to win the WAC tournament!!!!!!!!! It was a great trip. I was so happy to come home to Corbett though.

visiting Taylor!

Cody and I went up to meet Taylor on Sunday! She's so sweet! Incidentally, ever since we went up there Corbett has decided to call me Erica whenever we are playing cowboys. I'm not sure about the correlation???
